Bought this Phillips, inserted it in the deck, the other end plugged into my Ipiod....boom! Great music!
Sounds great...no hiss or static....perfect!

Much better then an FM Tuner. - Another Amazon User -
Reading some of the reviews on here, its obvious some folks expect perfect audio from what is a terrible cheat with a tape player.

The quality is better then the FM transmitters, and better then most FM radio broadcasts. I've never had any of the problems described by the 1 star reviews. Maybe its because my tape deck in the 'ole Kia Sephia just isn't that high-tech. It will wear out with use, getting lower and lower quality. I've bought two so far.






Works, but wears out quickly. - SWS -
I've owned four of these, and after a couple months of use they all break. The part of the cord that enters the cassette piece begins to wear down, causing increasingly poor quality of sound until eventually it becomes unusable. I've been keeping the packaging and receipt of each one I've purchased because, without fail, I'm back in the store returning it for a new one about every 2-3 months. I wouldn't bother, but I drive a lot for work and need some sort of adapter for my mp3 player or I'll go crazy!

Quite frustrating.



Works in my Saturn - Hooliator - Sacramento, CA
I drive a late 90s Saturn with a stock cassette player. The first adapter I bought (Sony CPA-9C), kept on ejecting. But this one works fine. The sound quality is good too.

This adapter is also made to be taken apart and adjusted for different cassette players. I didn't have to do that for mine though. It worked right out of the package.

I bought this marine stereo for my Jeep, since in the past stereos have sub-come to rain or even a little dew settling on the interior. Overall I like it. I gave it four starts because it seems to skip a little more often than I'd like. However in a Jeep, you feel every gum wrapper and cigarette butt in the road as it is, so I can live with it. What makes up for the occasional skip, is the MP3 player plug-in (who cares about skipping CD's, when you have an iPod anyway) and the weather band is a great feature also. The display is super bright, which is good for open air driving when the sun is overhead. Another nice feature is that the power button stays lit when the stereo is off, a nice detail when glancing at you dashboard in total darkness. All in all, it's a good stereo and I recommend it for Jeeps, motorcycles, and even for you boaters.

Installed easily with the limited (extremely limited) instructions. Seems to be working fine in my car and couldn't beat the price. My only complaint is the cover since it leaves the wires exposed. I shutter to think the unthinkable of positive and negative were somehow in connection with each other. I purchased another capacitor around the same time with the same features but had a nice plastic cap to shield the terminals. That would be the only suggestion I have for the manufacturer and would definitely call it out to the buyer's attention as it could be a big problem. In my case I was able to take the cover from my Rockford Fosgate capacitor that I replaced with this one and modify it to cover the terminals properly. Not doing this could fry your car battery or cause a car fire - so please keep this in mind and exercise caution with this product.

I installed this with a JL W7 12 and a JBL PowerSeries 1200 watt amp. It seems to do the job well enough. I have only seen one song at this point that can tax the system enough to actually get passed the cap. Installation was easy. I charged the cap in a minute and had it hooked up 5 minutes later. They don't say whether or not you should disconnect the power from the battery before attaching it in the instructions but if you don't you'll probably get a spark because the thing is grounded (per instructions). It is what I wanted and expected. Good for the price for sure!

Not 8GA cable - meq123 - Maryland USA
It's a decent set. The fuse holder is fine and comes with screw-on end caps and O-rings, so it's at least splash-proof. The other crimp connectors are fine.

Biggest issue is that the nice thick power-cable that they advertise as 8GA is, in reality, nothing like! There's a LOT of insulation on this cable. From measurement of the actual internal conductor, I would say it's 12GA at best. Fortunately, this was all I needed and for the price, it was enough. But don't buy this thinking you are getting what they advertise! (Having said that, most of these power cable sets seem to suffer from the same "enhanced" advertising.)

Everything else was fine, and so if 12GA cables are enough for you... go for it!

I really like my new pioneer car stereo. It does everything I need it to do, mainly connects my ipod to the stereo. The only thing that is a little off is that the AUX mode for the ipod requires almost double the volume level, so i have to be careful not to blow my speakers when switching back to radio- maybe its the cord i'm using? Other than that, i'm stoked i get to blast my ipod tunes in the car once again!

Great radio performance all around. I am using it in a classic roadster with 6.5" pioneer speakers and was impressed with how good it sounded for the money. I only wished the volume knob was larger and was not a push-on/pus-off. Barely touching it causes it to inadvertently switch.

Good luck finding a name-brand head unit with all these options for a better price. My only complaint is that the volume knob is too flush with the face. Makes quick volume adjustments tricky while on the road.

I am always a bit skeptical when it comes to adhesive based mounts for my iPod. My main fears are that the adhesive won't hold under stress, or that it will wear out over time. I am also worried that it would damage my car. I am happy to say that this doesn't present any of those issues.

With the adhesive backing made by 3M I decided to take a chance. The installation is incredibly easy, though the base is larger than I anticipated. You clean the area as instructed with the provided wipes and dry it off, then immediately apply the base (which detachs from the rest of the mount making installation that much easier). The only problem I had here was finding a suitable place to attach it because of the large base (but then again, I'm extremely picky about things being in the way of the stereo). The base flexes, so when you install it the surface can be slightly curved and it will attacth perfectly. Once the adhesive is set (instructions say 72 hours) you can attach the arm to the base and use it. The arm is adjustable using a ball-and-socket type of joint and locks in place with a lever making it very flexible as to what position you put it in. The adhesive is very strong, I have put it through some rigorous motions already adjusting my iPod for use and it hasn't even showed signs of letting go.

The iPod mount portion of this is designed very well. There is plenty of room for your charger in the bottom, and the top is completely open. There are several access points on the sides which didnt affect me, but might be useful newer iPods. The arm holds the iPod by sliding the iPod into the cradle from the top, an it holds tight enough that I feel completely comfortable that it won't fall out but it's still easy enough to remove. The mount is specifically designed for larger iPods (no nanos or iPhones, sorry) so make sure your iPod is listed in teh compatiblity list.

Overall, excellent quality, excellent design, and a must have for those with iPod's hooked up to their cars.

I've gone through many mounts, as I replace my cars every 12 to 18 months. Each has a unique need since every car is different and placement can be a pain.
Of all the ones I've tried, this one is by far the best. Solid construction, it holds tightly in the position I place the player in, and was very easy to install. The tape that holds it to the car is very solid. I've had no indication that it will come loose in the few weeks I've been using it now, in a Wisconsin winter.
I drive a car that lets me fully control the Ipod with the steering wheel controls, so I have a special cable to use to plug the Ipod into my system. That plug is slightly larger in size than the standard charging plug, so it didn't fit when I opened the box. However, a sharp knife and a little whittling the opening larger, and it works perfectly.
Another nice thing is that if I don't want the player there, one little phillips head screw removed and the ball joint and holder all come off within seconds, leaving just the base behind, for times when i won't need music but want the space freed up for something.

This is a nice In-dash. I bought mine a week ago. It has all the stuff mentioned in the title but the only problem I had was that the USB doesn't work with an ipod. The screen is motorized giving it several angles. When car turns off and then back on, It remembers DVD movie position and screen angle. The menu screen is stock, it shows icons that the system is even capable of but youll get use to ignoring them. I think u can add tv with a tuner. the Bluetooth is great connects to phone right when you get in car. Overall a good system and will give your speakers a working.Good for the price.

Infinity Reference 6022si 6.5-Inch Two-Way Shallow-Mount Loudspeaker (Silver/Black) Review

I've had alpine speakers for as long as I can remember, and i've always been happy with them. Recently I had to replace the window regulator in the front door of my 97 civic, and being a clumsy idiot: I punctured the cone of my 6 year old alpine SPS-16295's with a screwdriver.

I went to the local Kenwood/Alpine outlet, and took home a pair of s-type Alpines only to find out they wouldn't even come close to fitting, and the type r series is even bigger! I could cut the area out, but then the speaker would hit the window when it rolls down into the door. Long story short, I've tried 4 or 5 different major speaker brands since then and the Infinity speakers are the only ones to fit well.

I have plenty of low end bass in the back of my car, so I really wanted these front speakers to give good sound in the mids and highs - and they do so quite well. I've noticed other reviews saying these lack the bass response of some other 6.5's ... but I found quite the opposite to be true. I'm pushing them with only the internal amp in my receiver, and I can get the bass to shake my glass without much effort. There was only a small bit of noticeable distortion when the volume is up very high - but it was well out of the range of normal listening.

The only negative things I can say are that the supplied metal installation ring is rather annoying to get on, but seems solid once it is. Also, the "instructions" are little more than an Ikea-style diagram showing where the screws go.

The speakers are set for 4 hole mounting, so if your car has 3-hole you will have a bit of fiddling to do with it. Total install time for me was about 15 minutes or so.

All said and done, i've been very pleased with these speakers and I would consider putting Infinity speakers in other cars.

Great option for MINI Cooper with 6 speaker stereo - Joel Sowers - Chesterfield, VA USA
These fit nicely in the lower front positions in the door of a MINI Cooper with the six speaker option. I paired the with Infinity 3022cf's in the upper positions. The clarity is unbelievable when compared to the stock speakers. A must do mod for any MINI Copper with the six speaker stereo.



Relatively Flat Response Speakers - Malignate - Ashburn, VA United States
These are decent shallow mount speakers. I replaced these for the rear factory speakers in my 97 Nissan Maxima. The sound that comes out of them is definitely much better than the factory installed speakers and the Infinity Speakers use much better quality materials. I'm sure that's to be expected. I'd say the response is relatively flat with and you can adjust the tweeter by 3 db with a button atop of the speaker.

The installation could have been a bit more smooth and the instructions aren't anything more than some pictures that give you some sense of how everything should fit together depending on what installation scenario you are in. Keep in mind that the speaker grills that go with this are roughly the same size as the speakers themselves, so if you are putting them in a location that has a larger speaker grill, consider using the original grill as a cover.

Overall, I'd say it's a decent product without taking up much space.

Good... but I'm returning mine. - Joel Peterson - Minnesota, USA
This is the forth Pro.Fit VSM I've purchased over the last 12~13 years (for four different vehicles). This is the first one I've purchased with the ball-end, and the first one I've purchased for use with a GPS unit. In the past I've used their VSMs for cell-phone holders.

I'm using this mount in a 2005 Chevy 2500HD, with a Garmin Nuvi 1490T. Installation took less than a minute (I knew what I was doing) and only required one tool (9/32" socket driver). The fit is perfect, as it always is with thier products. But the reason I'm giving them three stars instead of five is because my GPS unit bounces around like a bobble-head doll. I think the stem could have been much stiffer.

In fairness, my 3/4ton pickup has very stiff suspension, and high tire pressure (90psi) so I'll feel it if I ride over a dime. And, my GPS has a large 5" screen; bigger is generally heavier.

I would still recommend this product, if you have a smooth ride, and a smaller/lighter GPS unit. As for me, I'm returning this product and I'm going to try thier CV-71-99-L model. Like I said, I've been using thier products for a long time and I've always been satisfied.
